NEAL BHATIA, MD, FAAD
Director, Clinical Dermatology
Dr. Bhatia has extensive expertise in all facets of medical dermatology with an interest in the immunobiology of the skin. He has practiced medicine for over 20 years, and has served as Principal Investigator for numerous dermatological and cosmetological clinical studies.
Dr. Bhatia is a member of the American Academy of Dermatology (AAD), is VP elect of the AAD and also sits on the Board of Directors for the AAD. He is currently an Associate Professor of Dermatology at Harbor UCLA Medical Center, and is widely published and active in professional societies.
Aside from Dr. Bhatia's interest in clinical research, his main focus is patient care and serving as your doctor.

Certified Physician Assistant
MONIQUE TORRES, BS, PA-C
Monique is a Certified Physician Assistant and serves as the Sub-Investigator for all of the studies at TCR. Her career in clinical research began in 2005 at the Veterans Medical Research Foundation as a Sub-Investigator and Certified Physician Assistant. She continued to work in this capacity at the Profil Institute for Clinical Research and eStudySite; and has served as the Sub-Investigator for over 100 studies prior to joining TCR.
At TCR, she shares joint responsibility with the Principal Investigator for the safety of patients and appropriate conduct of studies to ensure they are compliant with Good Clinical Practices, FDA regulations, IRB regulations, and TCR’s high standards of practice.
Monique earned her Bachelor of Science degree from San Diego State University; and her Physician Assistant degree from Western University of Health Sciences. She is certified by the National Commission of Certification of Physician Assistants (NCCPA), and is currently ACLS and BLS certified.
Senior Clinical Research Coordinator
Nicky began her career in clinical research working as a Senior Clinical Research Technician on a variety of trials, including phase I drug trials, diabetes, obesity and dermatology. During her career, she has played an active role in clinical trial development as a member of the Data Management and Quality Control/ Assurance departments.
Using her well-developed background in clinical research, Nicky currently works with protocol implementation, performs study-related tasks and aids in maintaining relationships with our study participants as the Senior Clinical Research Coordinator at TCR.
Nicky received her MD diploma from N. Narimanov Medical University of Baku; and is also trained as a Medical Assistant and Certified Phlebotomy Technician.
MARC DEL BONO, CMA
Certified Medical Assistant - Clinic Lead
Marc Del Bono is a Certified Medical Assistant for Therapeutics Clinical Research, and an assistant to the clinical research staff at TCR. He works closely with patients on daily care, advocacy, and education as well as on marketing strategies for the clinic. Marc Del Bono graduated from Imperial Valley College in 2001 and continued his career in the fire service as a Firefighter/Paramedic with the City of Vista Fire Department.
In 2015, he graduated from Kaplan College with high honors in the Medical Assisting program. After completing his internship at North County Gastroenterology and Alliance Clinical Research he joined TCR in 2015. Marc Del Bono was promoted to Clinic Lead in 2018 and oversees clinic and laboratory operations. Customer service, patient care and efficient operations are Marc's top priorities and he enjoys the clinical research aspect of the practice.
Senior Regulatory & QC Associate
Ligia is responsible for independent management and oversight for regulatory compliance, coordination and documentation. This includes daily interaction with IRBs and Sponsors in compliance with GCP, ICH guidelines and local regulations.
After 6 years working as a Certified Clinical Research Coordinator, Ligia transitioned to the Regulatory Department of our company. She is also our CLIA and Pathology Coordinator, responsible for completion and monitoring of all Pathology cases related to performed biopsies or excisions.
Ligia received both her Bachelor of Science degree in Engineering and her Master's degree in Special Treatments of Metals from the Polytechnic Institute of Bucharest.
Geri Taitano is responsible for our front desk operations, and is our primary contact for patients, vendors and corporate guests. Geri greets all visitors, answers and routes phone calls. She also handles new patient registration intake, scheduling, private patient billing and also provides administrative help to staff.
Geri participates in the management of our building facilities, coordinating with various vendors for maintenance and repair. Supplies for the building, break room and general office, etc. are also coordinated and distributed by Geri.
Geri has an extensive background in transportation management. She has her Certificate of Completion in DOT HazMat General & Security Awareness and is responsible for any shipping of hazardous materials.
BETH PANELLA, MA, CCRC, CCRP
Director of Clinical Research
Beth oversees Therapeutics Dermatology and Therapeutics Clinical Research as the Director of Clinical Research. Her clinical research career began in 2010 as a clinical research coordinator in Indiana. After relocation, she worked at Artemis Institute for Clinical Research in a variety of roles, including Clinical Research Coordinator, Project Manager, Site Director, Director of Clinical Operations, Director of Business Development, and Psychometrician. After Artemis, Beth worked for Scripps Healthcare as their Director of Research Integration and Management overseeing their research operations. Beth has worked on over 50 research studies prior to joining TCR.
At TCR, Beth is responsible for all operations and keeps involved in the research as a backup coordinator on studies. Beth is dedicated to meeting enrollment targets, while maintaining quality and compliance with GCP and regulatory standards. She is also highly passionate about championing for members of her team and building strong teams. Beth earned her Bachelor of Science degree from Western Illinois University and her Masters of Arts degree in Clinical Adult Psychology from Southern Illinois University Edwardsville. She is also a CCRC and CCRP.
Clinical Research Marketing Specialist
Madison Hoffmann is responsible for our recruiting, advertising and marketing operations. This includes daily interactions with potential subjects and Sponsors to handle scheduling, campaign budgets and marketing collateral.
Madison received her Bachelor’s degree in Marketing and graduated with honors from Kennesaw State University. Before joining the TCR family, Madison spent nearly three years in the medical device field where she developed keen marketing tactics relatable to the healthcare industry. Her deep passion for patient care and research has motivated her to switch to clinical research and help make a difference for dermatology communities.
Clinical Research Coordinator
Summer is responsible for coordinating and implementing the day-to-day study activities of our clinical trials. She collaborates closely with the Principal and Sub-investigator to ensure studies are conducted in accordance with the protocol and in compliance with the principles of Good Clinical Practice. Summer began her work in clinical research as a Regulatory Specialist at the Artemis Institute for Clinical Research and then transitioned into a Clinical Research Coordinator role at Therapeutics Clinical Research, where she ensures timely and accurate study data collection, while maintaining the highest standards of regulatory compliance. Summer is passionate about improving the quality of life for others and is motivated by the desire to better healthcare outcomes through innovation and clinical research. Summer completed her Bachelor of Medicine, Bachelor of Surgery (MBBS) degree from the Imam Abdulrahman bin Faisal University in Dammam, Saudi Arabia and also holds a professional certificate in Clinical Trials Design and Management from the University of California San Diego Extension.
