Psoriatic Arthritis Study
This study is designed to evaluate an investigational treatment option for patients who are suffering from active psoriatic arthritis. The purpose of the study is to see if an investigational drug, which is being developed for treating psoriatic arthritis, is safe and effective.
Inclusion Criteria:
- Eighteen years or older
- Diagnosed as having psoriatic arthritis for at least six months
- Have active plaque psoriasis or documented history of plaque psoriasis
- Willing to avoid prolonged sun exposure and avoid use of tanning booths or other ultraviolet light sources during study.
Exclusion Criteria:
- Pregnant, nursing, or planning pregnancy
- Other inflammatory diseases that could interfere with study therapy assessment
- Prior use of any therapeutic agent targeted at reducing IL-12 or IL-23, including but not limited to ustekinumab and ABT-874.
- Have HIV, hepatitis B, or hepatitis C
- Have current signs or symptoms of severe, progressive, or uncontrolled renal, hepatic, hematological, gastrointestinal, endocrine, pulmonary, cardiac, neurologic, cerebral, or psychiatric disease
- History of any clinically significant medical illness or disorder that in the physician's opinion would put the patient at risk or interfere with the patient's participation.
- Enrolled in another study of an investigational drug or device
Psoriasis Study Opportunities
Clinical research study to evaluate a new investigational drug in adults with moderate to severe plaque psoriasis.
Study 1
Therapeutics Clinical Research has a research study to evaluate the efficacy and safety of a Vitamin D derivative for patients with moderate to severe plaque psoriasis type.
Inclusion Criteria:
- Adults age 18 and older
- Clinical diagnosis of moderate to severe plaque psoriasis on body
- Up to 20% surface area affected with plaque psoriasis with at least a 10 cm2 affected area
Exclusion Criteria:
- Non-plaque psoriasis
- Pregnant, planning a pregnancy or nursing
- Allergy to Vitamin D3 derivative preparation
- Presence of contact dermatitis
- Underlying disease or a surgical or medical condition such as renal or liver insufficiency, cardiac or hepatic disease
- Patients that are using lithium, beta-blockers or chloroquine must be on a stable dose with a stable psoriatic condition for more than 12 weeks
- Patients that are taking oral vitamin D supplement must be on a stable dose for at least 8 weeks
- Use of medications that affect the immune system (i.e. methotrexate, oral retinoids, oral steroids, cyclosporine, biologics)
- Use of phototherapy during the study
- Use of creams and lotions not approved by study conductors
Study 2
Therapeutics Clinical Research has a research study to evaluate the efficacy and safety of an investigational topical ointment for patients with plaque psoriasis.
Overview of Inclusion Criteria:
- Adults age 18 years of age or older
- Clinical diagnosis of plaque psoriasis on body
- 25% or more body surface area (excluding the scalp) affected with plaque psoriasis
- Ability to attend 10 office visits over 15 days
Overview of Exclusion Criteria:
- Non-plaque psoriasis
- Pregnant, planning a pregnancy or nursing
- Underlying disease or a surgical or medical condition such as cancer, HIV or TB
